Baby with cradle cap or dandruff? Here's how to care for it safely and gently.

Cradle cap, also called seborrheic dermatitis, is a common condition in babies. It consists of greasy, yellow or white flakes on the scalp and sometimes near the eyebrows or behind the ears. It looks unsettling, but is usually harmless and temporary. Nevertheless, many parents want to know how to keep their baby's scalp clean and comfortable.
At INAY Baby, we understand how sensitive baby skin is. That's why we're sharing some safe and gentle care tips to treat cradle cap naturally, without harsh chemicals.
What causes mountain?
Cradle cap develops because a baby's sebaceous glands aren't yet fully balanced. They temporarily produce too much sebum, causing dead skin cells to stick to the scalp. This causes the familiar flakes. It's not a sign of an allergy or poor hygiene, but a normal process during the first few months after birth.
What you should avoid
Don't scratch or rub the flakes loose. This can damage or irritate sensitive skin. Also, avoid products containing alcohol, strong perfumes, or mineral oils. These can dry out the skin or clog pores, which can worsen the cradle cap.
Mild care for mountain
-
Use a gentle, natural cleanser.
A mild, foaming wash with natural ingredients is best for a baby's delicate scalp. The INAY Baby 2-in-1 Shampoo & Body Wash contains gentle cleansers like coco-glucoside and sodium cocoyl glutamate that cleanse effectively without drying out the skin. -
Allow the foam to work briefly.
Gently massage the foam in and let it sit for a minute. This will soften the flakes, making them easier to remove later without scraping or pulling. -
Rinse thoroughly and pat dry gently.
Use lukewarm water to remove any product residue and gently pat the scalp dry with a soft cloth. -
Condition with a light oil.
After washing, apply a small amount of INAY Baby Skin Oil. It contains natural oils like sunflower and sweet almond, which moisturize and protect the skin without leaving it feeling greasy.
How long does mountain last?
Cradle cap usually disappears on its own within a few weeks to months. As long as the skin isn't red or irritated, there's no need to worry. The most important thing is to keep your scalp clean, supple, and moisturized with gentle care.
Care advice
Use the 2-in-1 Shampoo & Body Wash two to three times a week and massage a drop of oil into your skin after drying. This routine not only helps reduce cradle cap but also supports healthy, balanced baby skin.
